6/28/2009 Hardbat Classic Results:  One hour ago Jack Baker NR from the Bar Bracket defeated Wayne Obertone NR from the Basement Bracket in Final $100,000 match. Jack had defeated Trevor Runyan 2507 (Allstar Bracket) in semifinal.

6/6/2009 The So. AZ USATT League results. Twenty four players have played today at Armory. Division winners are: Division 1 - Sreeram Parameswaran;  Division 2 -Yigie Zhang (2-player tie with Veronica Lam); Division 3 - Willing Cheng; and Division 4 - Kirk Sims. Willing Cheng and Kirk Sims went undefeated. Players with rating increase of more than 100 pts. are: Carol Rhodes (+389), Veronica Lam (+265), Jeremiah Sbarra (+254), Willing Cheng (+128) and Kirk Sims (+126). Congratulations!!!

6/5/2009 The So. AZ USATT League is scheduled for this Saturday, June 6th. We play at the dining area and adjacent Green, Blue and Quiet rooms with max. of 8 tables available. We will set up as many as we need to accommodate 5-6 players per 2 tables. There will be a lot of play to everyone during extended hours of play (from 9am to 2:30pm). Seeding begins at 9:30 and last player will be accepted by 10am. Play as always free.           League

Roger and Misha are newly crowned AZ State Singles Champions in Over 70 and U1750 categories respectively. Simon Potaychuk won his second straight Open Doubles title w/Andrew Manginelli and Adam Block is Runner up for U2000 event. Carter Fung (Tucson) has established his first USATT tournament rating (727). Division winners are: Division 1 - Gautam Hari;  Division 2 - Pavol Uhrovsky (3-player tie with Wenxin Zheng and John Peng); Division 3 -Trung Le; Division 4 - David Le, and Division 5- Jeffrey Morrison. Adam Block andMichael Morrison went undefeated in our first U3000 Doubles Competition. Trung Lewon division for the fourth time that is more than any other league player. 3/26/2009 USATT Memo. Tournament Processing Fee (Formerly Rating Fee). The Board of Directors recently considered a possible increase in membership fees within USATT membership categories. Membership fees have essentially not increased since 2004. The Board rejected the concept of increasing membership fees in 2009. However, due to increased operating costs within USATT, a modest increase in tournament processing fees was approved. The increase will be effective on April 1st and it will amount to an increase in $2. The rating fees for 0, 1, 2, 3 & 4 star events will go from $5 to $7.  Full Text

March 14 - SATTA TOUR, a USATT sanctioned Tournament;
March 21, 28, April 18 - open practice in Dining area from 9am to 4pm;
April 4 - open practice in Ballroom from 9am to 1pm;
April 11 - So. AZ USATT table tennis League from 9am to 1pm;

3/11/2009 SATTA TOUR updates. The last day to withdraw from the tournament is today, March 11, 2009. Your email request to withdraw will be granted with a full refund and first player on the waiting list will be accepted.
Draws will be posted on the Web on Thursday 3/12 and no refunds will be offered after the draw is made.
Armory Center's doors will be open on Saturday 3/14 at 8:15am and players have more than 1 hour to warm-up on 8 STIGA tables. All 4 events start promptly at 9:30 am. Players who arrive after 9:45 am will be defaulted.
We would like to welcome everyone to our first SATTA Tour tourney and wish all the players best of luck!!!

Just 260 miles away from Tucson, 4 six-hour sessions, 24 hours of intensive training clinic is limited to 22 players. 3/5/2009 SATTA TOUR updates. All events are now closed and our special thanks to all 32 registered players. Eight players will play their first USATT tournament and four of them have already established their first So. AZ SATT League ratings. Their fair estimated rating will be used for seeding purposes and allow them to advance from initial RR to the single elimination: Michael Jones (1260), Michael Morrison (1102), David Le (991), and Nelson Sai (897). Players Entered

2/26/2009 New ratings have been posted for AZ Open players. Top So. AZ achievers - Simen Potaychuk 2057 (+ 13), Rocky Dotzler 1731 (+ 8), and Vicky Franks 1391 (+ 7). Rocky Dotzler went undefeated in his last 4 USATT tournaments with the perfect 23-0 records and improving his rating to his career high 1731 (+ 343). Congratulations!!!

Check out the left column for entry form, event description and trophy picture. Events: Open Singles, U1700, U1450, and U1200 are limited to 8 players each. Entry deadline is March 11 (received). Top So. AZ player, Simen Potaychuk (2045) has received the only one "wild card" from the tournament committee and confirmed his participation in Open Singles event. No phone or email entries please. First 7 (Open Singles) and 8 (all other events) paid entries received will be accepted. Tourney will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 9:30am to 1:30pm. at Armory Park Senior Center.
